Rungu Dualie E-Bikes use hand-welded, 6061-T6 aluminum frames designed, developed and tested in California.  Each frame is professionally inspected for conformance to Rungu design specifications.

Rungu® frames have robust M8 mounts (compare to 5mm standard) to support Rungu Cargo Rack loads and 170 mm symmetric rear wheel spacing.  Rungu Dualie E-Bikes use the Rungu Integrated Frame, which houses the battery in the frame itself.  The Rungu Integrated Frame increases motor clearance to 10 inches and lowers overall weight by almost two pounds while improving ride characteristics.

Patented Steering Assembly

Rungu®’s patented steering mechanism makes it easy to pivot the front wheels with one hand or two.  Left and right high-strength aluminum alloy handlebars connect with a linkage rod like those found in steering mechanisms for UTVs and ATVs.  For weight savings, the stem, linkage arm, rod and rod ends are machined aluminum.

 

Independent front suspension

Each front wheel has its own alloy and steel suspension fork with adjustable tension and a suspension lock-out for more control on softer surfaces.  Rungu uses high quality aluminum alloy sealed bearing headsets to best protect fork rotation in all weather conditions.

Rugged front and rear wheel assemblies

All Rungu Dualie E-Bikes use high quality sealed bearing hubs, stainless steel spokes and aluminum alloy rims to minimize weight and maximize corrosion resistance.  Produced in Taiwan by ALEXRIMS, all three wheels have quick-release hubs to minimize time and complexity for tire and tube changes.

Hydraulic Disc Brakes in front and rear

 

Rungu Dualie E-Bikes use hydraulic brakes in the front and rear of each bike.  The brakes integrate with the operation of the mid-drive motor. The moment you actuate either front or rear brakes, the motor cuts out to decrease stopping distance and improve safety. NEW for 2025, Rungu Dualie Rugged, and the XR models come standard with quad-piston brake sets throughout from Samonix with 203 mm rotors in front and back for even greater stopping power.

 

Studded Vee Rubber Snowshoe XL/Snow Avalanche Tires

Optional factory upgrade - VEE Rubber Snowshoe XL Rear and Snow Avalanche Front tires with studs.  Studded VEE Rubber tires have excellent traction on ice.

Maxxis Minion FBF/FBR

All Rungu Dualie E-Bikes come with Maxxis Minion 4.8 in. tires.  In all our testing, there are no better handling fat tires than Maxxis Minion 4.8 in. tires on soft sand and snow.

TANNUS Armour tire liners

The Rungu Dualie Rugged and Rungu Dualie XR models include TANNUS Armour liners. The XR Steep has one in the rear tire, whereas the Rugged and Rubicon Trail Edition have them in all three tires. These liners help avoid pinch flats when traversing the rockiest of terrain -"Like a helmet for your inner tubes."

Configurable High output mid-drive motor

One of the highest power mid-drive motors in mass production, the Bafang BBSHD 1120W is paired with Rungu’s proprietary 52V battery system to produce over 1,400W (1.9 hp) of peak mechanical power.  Paired with the 30T chainring on all models, the motor produces unparalleled off-road hill-climbing ability with up to 242 ft.lbs of torque at the rear wheel!

The team at Rungu can also configure the motor so your Rungu complies formally with prevailing US e-bike regulations.  If you plan to use Rungu in an area where E-bike classification is enforced, we can program your Rungu to qualify as a Class 1 or Class 2 e-bike (see our FAQ page for more info) and label your Rungu accordingly at no extra charge. Standard throttle and pedal assist

Each Rungu Dualie comes standard with a thumb throttle and "Pedal Assist" to control the motor.  Pedal Assist uses motor power to help you pedal, and the throttle lets you control the motor without pedaling.  The keypad to the right of the throttle also controls the power level of the motor.  Rungu Dualie comes factory configured with five power levels you can select on-the-go.  If you want to save battery on a flat road and cruise at a slow speed, choose power levels 1 or 2.  Powering through mud or up a steep trail, get in first gear and choose power level 4 or 5. 

Most robust standard drivetrain in the industry

Rungu Dualie Standard, Steep and XR Steep include microSHIFT Advent series derailleur with sprockets reinforced especially for Rungu Dualie products. The Steep and XR Steep now include a 9-speed gear indicator.  All Rungu Dualie E-Bikes use chains from KMC specifically formulated for the highest power electric drives to handle the high-output motor and minimize the risk of breaking.  In addition, all Rungu Dualie E-Bikes include an electronic clutch from gearsensor.com to disable the motor during gear changes – where the chain or cassette are most likely to break.

BOX Prime 9 wide range gearing

The Rungu Dualie Rugged and Rungu Dualie XR models come equipped with the BOX Prime 9 series derailleur and shifter combination.  The BOX Prime 9 includes a 50T first gear maximizing rear wheel torque to make hill climbs even easier. 

Single Gear Option

For those who want to eliminate the risk of breaking a chain during a gear change, Rungu provides the single gear option. The Single Gear option lets you choose one sprocket size and comes with a proprietary chain tensioner/gear shield design.

Rohloff Speedhub Upgrade

Though Rungu has been building custom Rungu Dualie units with the Rohloff Speedhub for years, Rungu now offers the Rohloff Speedhub as an upgrade option available on all Rungu Dualie builds. Made in Germany, the Rohloff speed hub replaces the derailleur with a sophisticated 14-speed mechanism inside the rear hub.  Like the single gear option above, Rohloff uses a single sprocket and our proprietary chain tensioner and gear shield. Multi-function dashboard

Rungu Dualie and Rungu Dualie XR models all come with a color dashboard showing speedometer, power meter, fuel/battery gauge, remaining range, power level settings and trip computer settings.  The display also includes a user-programmable PIN to lock out access to the motor when parked.

XR Battery case and system

Rungu Dualie XR models use the "Double-up" battery system -- two 936Wh Lithium Ion batteries connected in parallel (total 1,872 Wh) housed in their own easy-to-access, USA-made battery cases.  One battery occupies the space under the frame to lower the center of gravity.  The Cargo Rack houses the second battery in a locking compartment.

Integrated battery design

Rungu Dualie models (single battery) use an integrated frame design with an easy-to-swap Lithium-Ion battery. For the Rungu Dualie Steep and Standard models the integrated battery has a capacity of 830 Wh achieving 20 miles of range off-road in real-world conditions. Rungu Dualie Rugged includes a 1000 Wh battery pack for more range. Each integrated battery pack includes a 4-LED "gas-gage" and a USB power port to power your i-phone or GPS on the go - even when the bike is turned off! A key-lock holds the battery in place.

Rungu Dualie XR Headlight

Standard on Rungu Dualie XR Models and twelve times (12x) more powerful than industry standard E-Bike lights, Rungu Elight is a 2520 Lumen e-bike light that powers directly from the same battery as the Rungu motor.  Rungu E-light exceeds expectations lighting up the night.

Hi-Efficiency Rungu E-Light

This industry standard 3W high-efficiency E-Bike headlight comes standard on Rungu Dualie models. It optimizes power usage with dark night visibility.

Rungu Taillight

Rungu Taillight senses braking like a brake light, too.  If you're travelling with a group or alone at night, on or off-road, Rungu Taillight makes you more visible.

FS-CR Saddle

Ride your Rungu Dualie with more comfort than a Quad ATV because of this saddle upgrade. More than a foot wide, it provides excellent comfort and cushioning for those of you who want tractor seat feel. NOTE: This suspension seat post is not compatible with suspension seat posts.

Suspension seat posts

Take the bumps out of your ride. Rungu offers different suspension seat posts from Kinekt that give excellent shock absorption on bigger bumps. NOTE: suspension seat posts are not compatible with the FS-CR Saddle.

Rungu Cargo Rack

Developed after two years of engineering, the NEW Rungu Cargo Rack works with the Rungu Frame to support up to 180 lbs. of evenly distributed load, but is almost three pounds lighter than its predecessor. It has plenty of built-in fastening points to hard-mount your gear. With the optional trailer hitch, tow up to 300 lbs! All Rungu Dualie and Rungu Dualie XR models include the cargo rack except Rungu Dualie Standard.

Rungu Front Cargo Rack

NEW for 2025 is Rungu Front Cargo Rack.  It mounts to the front of all Rungu Dualie models shipped from 2016 on. Rungu Front Cargo Rack supports up to 50 lbs. of evenly distributed weight and is designed to hold popular 15 Qt. coolers.

Rungu Cargo Trailer

The Rungu Cargo Trailer provides the most versatility for an e-bike trailer on the market.  The trailer can hold up to 100 lbs. of gear and supplies, has a 4” tire for less off-road resistance, a built-in kickstand, and a built-in suspension to better manage the load at speeds up to 25 mph.

Rungu Deer Cart

The Rungu Deer Cart is the utilitarian choice for pulling loads of up to 220 lbs. without the need for a ball hitch. Like other towable deer carts, the Rungu Deer Cart collapses into a package that you can strap to the Rungu Cart to deploy later when you need it. The upright and lay-flat positions allow for towing large cargo at speeds up to 10 mph.

Weapon Holder

Rungu offers a front mount V-Grip style weapon holder. Use it to carry your bow or gun when riding to the hunt.

Rungu Dualie® Hitch Rack v2.0

Mounts to a standard 2” receiver, we worked with 1UP USA to design this rack specifically for carrying Rungu Dualie E-Bikes.  The rack supports 200 lbs. (90.7 kg) yet weighs only 38 lbs. (17.2 kg) so the rack is easy to mount and remove. The hitch rack folds away for storage and has an intermediate position to access your lift gate without removing the rack when not in use.  Available with or without tie-down straps

Skid Plate

A must for rock crawling and log crossing, the Rungu Skid Plate is made with 3/8" UHMW Polyethylene and protects the mid-drive motor and cabling from incidental contact with rocks, ledges and logs. Rungu Dualie Rugged and Rungu Dualie XR Rubicon Trail Edition both include the skid plate as standard. 

Mud Guards

Mud guards protect you from mud and spray in wet weather and terrain and come standard with all  Rungu Dualie and Rungu Dualie XR models. These Aluminum-Full-Length systems come with new single-tool mounting making them easier to remove and replace.

 

Rungu Dualie Chainguard

Protect your pant cuffs with this aluminum alloy chainguard. Mounts on the chainring to prevent pant cuffs from getting caught by the chainring. A must for riding with long pants. All new Rungu Dualie and Rungu Dualie XR models include the chainguard.

Rungu Gear Shield

Designed and produced by the team at Rungu, the Rungu Gear Shield is essential when riding off-trail “in the weeds”. It protects your derailleur and cassette from entanglement and damage by weeds, sticks and tall grasses. Rungu Dualie Rugged and Rungu Dualie XR Rubicon Trail Edition both include the Rungu Gear Shield as standard.
