Rungu Dualie® vs Quad ATV

Rungu Dualie can go places 4-Wheelers cannot

With half the footprint and a quarter of the weight, Rungu Dualie Double Wheel E-Bikes take you almost everywhere a Quad ATV can go and beyond! Rungu®’s Double Wheel Design lets you conquer slick surfaces like soft sand, snow or mud like a Quad ATV.  Steep hills? Rungu’s long wheelbase and powerful motor keep you moving up inclines greater than 50%.  How about narrow trails?  With a less-than-14" stance, you can ride Rungu on motorcycle trails that a 42" wide Quad ATV will never get through.

Rungu Dualie E-Bikes also take you places where a Quad ATV aren’t allowed.  Rungu Dualie ate up Hell's Revenge jeep trail in Moab, Utah, which is off-limits to Quad ATVs.  Rungu Dualie qualifies as a street legal e-bike across the US where Quad ATVs are often prohibited.

What about obstacles?  If a treefall blocks your way on a Quad, backtrack, chainsaw or walk. Rungu Dualie E-Bikes let you choose to go around a treefall or lift (ride?) your Rungu Dualie over it.

Rungu Dualie can carry up to 350 lbs.  Add a Rungu Cargo Trailer, Deer Cart or use a hitch on the Rungu Cargo rack to tow up to 300 lbs. more.  For personal off-road transport - it's a no-brainer. With all these reasons, it's no surprise Rungu Dualie was voted "Texas Off-Road E-ATV of the Year."

Rungu has five different models to choose to meet your needs.  Choose Rungu Dualie or Rungu Dualie Steep for errands, scouting and hunting on terrain smaller than 5,000 acres.  Choose Rungu Dualie Rugged for deeper forests and steeper hills.  Or investigate the XR (eXtended Range) models for sorties of more than 20 miles or scouting up to 15,000 acres of terrain.

Stealth and better safety

Unlike ICE (Internal Combustion Engine) Quad ATV’s, Rungu Dualie E-Bikes are stealthy. The Rungu Dualie motor is SIX times quieter than the quietest ATV (with a silencer), and of course, no exhaust!  Rungu customer Jeff Braun traded in his Quad ATV and purchased a Rungu Dualie. Read how his annual hunt changed from chasing deer away with his Quad to landing the biggest buck in his career with Rungu Dualie. If you’re serious about stealth in the backcountry, only Rungu Dualie E-Bikes deliver the quiet and the capability.

Rungu Dualie E-Bikes handle better than Quad ATVs in corners and on angled trails.  Quad ATVs have a dangerous tendency to roll over on angled trails or taking corners too fast on flat ground. In 2020, 17% and of all ATV fatalities in the US resulted from an on-road rollover. The two front wheels on a Rungu are close enough that you can bank into a corner much like a motorcycle. The same holds true riding on an canted trail, which you can ride safely even with one front wheel not even touching the ground!

Unlike E-Bikes marketed for off-road use, Rungu Dualie works on steep inclines like a 4-wheeler.  Did you know you could break your neck riding up a steep incline on a single-front-wheel E-Bike?  Check the link below to learn more.

Why Rungu Is The Best E-ATV For The Next 20 Years.

Quite a conceit; but not without merit.

Rungu Dualie E-Bikes are the only ATV alternative to outperform ATVs on difficult terrain and deliver equivalent ICE ATV range today and for at least 20 years.  Because the engineers at Rungu® purpose-designed and built Rungu Dualie E-Bikes for difficult terrain, they married light-weight materials with the best battery technology of the day.  According to industry estimates, it will take another 30 or more years at the current pace of improvement to achieve a battery with specific energy of more than 1,000 Wh/lb. So, why wait?

At Rungu, we’ve done extensive off-road testing to nail down real-world range estimates of what you should expect with Rungu Dualie. The engineering team has proven these calculations to within a mile. To get your FREE personalized Range Assessment, click here or tap the button below. We’ll reply with an assessment of Range for the Rungu Dualie and terrain you choose!

Battery technology is not as advanced as it seems. For an E-ATV to have the same weight, range and power as an ICE ATV, the specific energy (energy density) of a Li-Ion battery needs to be more than 1,500 Watt-hours per pound (Wh/lb.).  In other words, every pound of battery should be able to run a microwave on "High" for an hour.  Where is battery technology today? 80 Wh/lb. Not even 10% of where it needs to be!

Smaller Footprint Lower Costs

Each Rungu Dualie E-bike has the footprint of a cargo bike and a handlebar width that’s around ten inches narrower than a Quad ATV.  With a two-inch receiver and the Rungu Dualie Hitch Rack, you can carry a Rungu Dualie E-Bike. You can fit three in the back of a long bed (6”+) pickup truck. Try doing that with a Quad ATV.

Rungu Dualie E-Bikes cost less than Quad ATVs to operate.  Owning a Quad ATV requires fuel, periodic oil changes, vehicle registration, and insurance.  Rungu requires chain lube and a battery recharge.  We compared the per-mile and annual cost of an Rungu Dualie and a Honda TRX 250 base model.  If you plan to use either vehicle for 1,000 miles per year, the Rungu Dualie costs 12 cents per mile (including battery depreciation) and the Honda costs an estimated 43 cents. That’s $310 savings a year with Rungu Dualie.
